We are looking for two persons with a doctoral degree or the equivalent who present research plans with a high degree of relevance for the appointments. The place of work for the appointments will be the Department of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies.
The appointees’ research programmes must be clearly linked to the order glucophage now research area of science, technology and environment studies, i.e. culture studies research on science, technology and the environment, relations between these areas and society as a whole. By way of example, the research programmes could focus on the following areas: science and communication, biofuel and climate policy, agricultural sciences, research policy and research organisation, biomedicine and genetic engineering, debates on the environment and cialis for cheap views on natural resources, science and industry. These areas embrace main fields of study such as the history of science, environmental history, the history of technology and the history of medicine, all specialisations within the cross-disciplinary field of science and technology studies (STS), and environmental research within the arts/research on sustainable development.
The appointees will work in collaboration with other ongoing research and post-graduate programmes within the field of these appointments and will actively promote international collaboration within the research area.

Qualification requirements for the appointment are stated in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Priority will be given to candidates who have completed their degree no more than five years before the last date for application.
Because a long-term strengthening of research is an urgent priority of the Faculty of Arts, academic skills, the ability to analyse and work independently, and the candidate’s potential to develop within relevant subject areas are the most important factors for the appointment. Candidates must be able to conduct innovative and significant research, independently and successfully, thereby contributing to new knowledge within his/her field of research. Candidates must have an international grounding for their research, have a forward-looking view of the development of his/her subject area, and have an explicit strategy for the publication of work.
At least one long stay in a research environment abroad of relevance for the project is required. This stay abroad must be integrated into the research plan and preliminary contacts should already have been made with the intended place.
Assessment for the appointment shall be based on the degree in which a candidate possesses the skills required to qualify for appointment. Special weight shall be accorded to academic skills.
